Rijksmuseum Amsterdam

When you visit Amsterdam, you must visit the Rijksmuseum. This national pride since 1885 with more than 7 million objects is the number 1 attraction in Amsterdam. After a major renovation, the museum reopened in 2013. Of course the highlights of the 17th century with the work of Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer, Jan Steen, Frans Hals and other famous painters, are displayed with all the deserved affection. But more so than before the Rijksmuseum wants to tell a story: paintings, porcelain, historical artifacts, costumes and drawings are exhibited together and support each other in the story of a particular period in history.
